prof. RNDr. Miroslava Rabajdová, PhD.
Expert in reproductive health
Prof. RNDr. Miroslava Rabajdová, PhD., works at the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, where she serves as a professor specializing in research in reproductive biomedicine, non-invasive diagnostics, and transcriptomic analysis in assisted reproduction. She is regarded as a leading expert in reproductive health and embryonic quality research, with a long-standing focus on identifying new biomarkers for personalized medicine. She is also the co-founder of the biomedical start-up SAFTRA BioMAI, which specializes in developing innovative diagnostic solutions using bioinformatics and artificial intelligence.
After completing her studies in Laboratory Diagnostic Methods in Healthcare at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava (2009) and defending her rigorous thesis, she obtained the title RNDr., followed by a PhD. in Clinical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in 2013. She completed research internships at the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague (Laboratory of Cancer Cell Biology, 2012) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford (2014–2015), where she focused on gene regulation and chromatin activity in the Erbb2 amplicon region. In 2016, she received the Young Oncologist of Slovakia Award, and in 2018 she successfully habilitated at the University of Trnava in the field of Laboratory Diagnostic Methods in Healthcare. She is the author and co-author of more than 68 scientific publications indexed in WoS and Scopus, with her work cited over 580 times (Scopus) and an H-index of 12.ískala niekoľko ocenení na domácej aj medzinárodnej úrovni. V roku 2021 získala ocenenie „Inovácia Slovenska 2021“ v kategórii biomedicínsky projekt „MikroRNA test úspešnosti in vitro fertilizačného (IVF) procesu a diagnostiky kvalitného embrya pre IVF proces“. Jej vedecko-výskumná činnosť bola Európskou spoločnosťou pre laboratórnu medicínu ocenená – EFLM Bursary for Young Students – 22rd IFCC-EFLM (2017). V roku 2016, na súťaži Mladých onkológov Slovenska získala 1. miesto v kategórií vedecko-výskumný pracovník do 35 rokov. V roku 2023 sa stala laureátkou programu L’Oréal – UNESCO Pre ženy vo vede za výskum v oblasti výberu embryí s najvyšším implantačným potenciálom pomocou RNA analýzy. Bola nominovaná na ocenenie Krištáľové krídlo 2023 v kategórii „Medicína a veda“. Od roku 2024 je členkou Vedeckej rady Ministerstva zdravotníctva SR, ako aj členkou Rady vlády SR pre vedu, techniku a inovácie. V januári 2025 bola menovaná za národného experta v programovom výbore „Zdravie“ v rámci Horizontu Európa – rámcového programu EÚ pre výskum a inovácie (2021–2027).
Je spoluautorkou medzinárodnej patentovej prihlášky PCT/SK2021/050004.: “Spôsob neinvazívneho testovania úspešnosti in vitro fertilizačného procesu“.
Bc. Marek Kľoc
Expert in data science, bioinformatics, and AI
Marek Kľoc is an expert in data science, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence with a strong background in cybersecurity and big data analytics. He graduated in Information Systems Design and Operation from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Košice (2003). Throughout his career, he has focused on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to process complex biomedical data, including data from transcriptomics and reproductive medicine. He completed the educational program at the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Centre, specializing in high-throughput biomedical data analysis, exploratory data analysis, and data mining. He holds several professional certifications, including Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert, and Checkpoint Certified Security Expert.
He has also earned a certification for using ML/DL tools on the big data platform Spark, which highlights his ability to bridge data science with the practical development and deployment of analytical systems in healthcare and scientific research. In the field of artificial intelligence applications in science, he presented as a top speaker at Hackfest Bratislava in 2022, where he demonstrated the use of ML techniques for real-time phishing detection. He is a co-author of the scientific publication "Small non-coding RNAs as new biomarkers to evaluate the quality of the embryo in the IVF process" (DOI: 10.3390/biom12111687), in which he implemented machine learning algorithms to predict embryo quality with 86% accuracy. He is proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, Kotlin, and Java, focusing on algorithm development, data visualization, and creating interactive tools for biomedical analysis. He is one of the co-founders of SAFTRA BioMAI, where he is responsible for designing the data architecture, integrating analytical solutions, and transferring knowledge from data science into clinical practice.
RNDr. Zuzana Badovská, PhD.
Specialist in reproductive biochemistry
Zuzana Badovská currently works as a research scientist at the Institute of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, where she specializes in infertility research and gynecological malignancies, such as endometriosis and endometrial cancer. Her research focuses primarily on studying small non-coding RNA molecules and their potential for non-invasive diagnostics in reproductive health. She began her academic education with a bachelor's degree in chemistry at the Faculty of Science, UPJŠ in Košice (2015), and continued with a master's degree in biochemistry at the Faculty of Science, Comenius University in Bratislava, which she completed in 2017. In August 2023, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis focused on the analysis of small non-coding RNA molecules from embryo culture media (SBM) and their association with infertility.
She deepened her scientific expertise during her doctoral studies with a six-month research stay in Prof. Graier’s laboratory at the Medical University of Graz (Austria), where she focused on studying the impact of complex biometal-containing compounds on metabolic pathways in endometriosis. She is currently the author and co-author of 18 scientific publications indexed in the WoS and Scopus databases with 89 citations (H-index 5). Zuzana Badovská is also the principal investigator of the research project titled "Non-invasive 3D fluorescence analysis of biological fluids of women in the IVF process", which received support from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic under the "Scholarships for Excellent Researchers" (R2) initiative.
Ivan Krzák
Specialist in systems, cloud, and AI infrastructure
An experienced full-stack developer specializing in the design and development of custom software solutions, e-commerce platforms, and mobile applications. He has experience in project management and automation in the field of data centers. Throughout his career, he has worked on numerous projects, including the innovative B2B SaaS platform Eztenda, which streamlined beverage tenders and procurement in the beverage industry. As the lead developer, he was responsible for the platform’s architecture, scalability, and security, and led a team of developers during its implementation in markets in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. SAFTRA BioMAI he is involved in developing digital solutions for the collection, tracking, and analysis of health and research data. His responsibilities include designing and testing mobile applications and web interfaces for collecting biometric and questionnaire data, telemetric monitoring of health status, visualizing ongoing results and recommendations, and integrating these tools with analytical backend systems.
Ivan is also involved in the development of educational and gamification tools that combine science and entertainment, and helps modernize the processing of clinical and laboratory data through digital transformation.

MEng Matej Genči
External Specialist in Systems, Cloud, and AI Infrastructure
Matej Genči is a specialist in system programming, cloud technologies, and the development of artificial intelligence infrastructures. He studied software engineering at Imperial College London. He focuses on the development of high-performance system solutions in the Linux environment, virtualization, and kernel development. He has extensive experience in building scalable cloud platforms, designing AI/ML infrastructures, and integrating technologies into visualization tools, game engines, and mobile applications. He specializes in processing large-scale data, optimizing computational processes, and creating digital avatars using consumer technology. He is proficient in programming languages such as Rust, C, C++, Go, and Python, and works with technologies like AWS, QEMU, SPDK, DPDK, and Nvidia Omniverse.
His development solutions are characterized by exceptional performance, scalability, and practical applicability — ranging from the creation of digital avatars to the efficient processing of large-scale data. At SAFTRA BioMAI, he contributes to innovation in biomedical data processing and to bridging digital technologies with real-world applications. He is responsible for the development of mobile application prototypes, designing and testing digital tools for the collection, monitoring, and analysis of health and research data. At the same time, he is involved in the development of educational and gamification tools, including interactive games and digital materials that foster scientific thinking and enhance public health literacy.
